Source Widepac (3L) bladder + Sawyer Mini Filter

Here, we would like to eliminate some confusion about the Source Widepac bladder and the Sawyer Mini Filter system. We, and we guess others experience the same, had some trouble to get information about compatibility and the difference between the options. Mainly, we were irritated by the fact, that Source sells a Widepac bladder with a mini sawyer filter system inbuilt (~80€), which is far more expensive than buying the Source Widepac 3L bladder ( ~30€) and Sawyer Mini Filter separately (~25€). However, we couldn't find any information whether it is possible to just connect the filter with the tube. Moreover, if you order the filter separately, a 16 oz (~500 ml) squeeze bottle and a straw are included as well. If you have been trying to figure out the same question, we hope we can help you here.

I) Prepare everything - you'll need: Widepac, mini saywer, cutter, some mat to cut on and you backpack

II) Position the Widepac into your backpack and make yourself familiar with the backpack's individual guidance of the tube.

III) Decide where your mini sawyer should be positioned.

IV) Use a cutter to cut straight trough the tube.

V) Place the Mini Sawyer with the right flow orientation into the tube.

VI) Place the bladder into your bag, position the mini sawyer - finished!
